Before Grilling Care
1. Grills comes with a manual for a reason. Read it. It’s important to understand your grill and the manufacture’s manual will come with all the recommended cleaning instructions.
2. Aluminum foil can restrict air flow, so refrain from lining the grill’s cooking rack or fire bed with your favorite shiny substance.
3. To prevent food from sticking and making cleanup easier, try brushing the grill rack or grill grate with oil prior to cooking. This 30 second precaution might just save you tons of time later when trying to clean your grill.
After Grilling Care
4. Use a long-handled wire brush to scrape off any remaining food particles while the grill grate is still hot. Cover your grill and let the dying heat inside your grill burn off any remaining residue.
5. After letting your grill cool, sift through the ceramic bricks or lava rocks and remove any particles of food that could potentially clog the gas jets. You can also clean the gas jets by scraping off the accumulated residue of gas and ash.
Between Grilling Care
6. Wait until the ash from your grill has completely cooled and discard. It is important to not let ashes accumulate.
7. Replace your ceramic briquettes or lava rocks if they appear heavily soiled or you notice that they are no longer heat efficiently.
9. Protect your grill from weathering by covering it with a waterproof cover or by storing it indoors when not in use.
